Hey guys,
Just a quick note to say we made it back safe and sound from tour last night and had a f_cking AWESOME time. Econoline Crush was so cool to us and such great guys, and they sounded amazing every night. I think we all wished the tour was going for longer... It's always cool for us to meet successful bands who are still great dudes, this industry can create so many egomaniacs, and it's rad to meet rock stars who aren't complete assholes! Haha...
Actually we've been lucky, every big band we've toured with: Creed, Puddle of Mudd, Shinedown, Drowning Pool & now Econoline have all kinda taken us under their wing and looked after us really well on tour. I've heard nightmare stories about other opening slots, but so far we've found it to be the opposite. We've always got on great and ended up exchanging info and keeping in touch. I guess I should take a minute here to thank all those guys for being so f#cking cool to us, the latest being the boys in Econoline Crush. It's definitely made all the touring way cooler!
The last few shows with them were heaps of fun. They were all on Vancouver Island which is a ferry ride from Vancouver (makes sense I guess, doesn't it?) We'd never played on the Island and were looking forward to checking it out. The Island has a totally different vibe, way more chilled and mellow. Kinda hippyish, kinda remote, but every night the clubs were packed and everyone was going hard. And everyone we met was so cool! We also had our boys from Mass Undergoe joining us for these shows. Mass Undergoe is rad Vancouver band that we've shared the stage with many a time over the last few years. If you're in Vancouver July 10th you should go check 'em out at the Bourbon, they put on a wicked show!
Every band says they have awesome fans, but let me give you an idea of how awesome our fans are. At the last show in Port Alberni we had people who'd flown to see us from Edmonton, AB, Atlanta, and Eugene, OR! And on the last tour we had people driving and flying all over the country to support us. Some of them were going crazy distances like flying from Indy to Seattle, or driving from Virgina Beach to Youngstown, Ohio. Lena flew from Vancouver to Rock on the Range in Columbus, Ohio! We know first-hand how draining traveling can be (we get around a bit ourselves, ya know) so the fact that you guys would go to all that hassle just to come and support us at a show means everything to us man! We appreciate it so much and always use it to make sure we give you guys the best
show we can. You all know who you are, THANK YOU!
Right now I'm at home sitting in bed. I may or may not get up today - haven't decided yet. The last show finished up at about 3am and we had to leave for the ferry at 8am the next day. The only way I got my sorry ass out of bed was by promising myself that I'd sleep all day today. But now that I have the day off I feel pretty damn good. That always happens...
As always man, thanks heaps for all your messages, comments and support, we love you guys! I can't say for sure how the next month or so's gonna pan out for us just yet, but I do know there's: an album release in US and Canada, a video-shoot for Enemy, writing, recording and maybe a show or two, all in the works. Woah... Suddenly I'm starting to get tired again... Night everyone...
